Scientific plagiarism is a global phenomenon, also prominent in the United States. Most of the Scientific plagiarism in U.S.A has been noticed and identified in the American Higher learning institutes, public and private universities.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Prof. found guilty of plagiarism )〕 The statutory body to combat with scientific misconduct in USA is the Office of Research Integrity. ==In academic settings== * Marc Hauser (evolutionary psychology).〔(Harvard Dean Confirms Misconduct in Hauser Investigation ), ''Science'', August 20, 2010〕 * Doctoral student Roxana Gonzalez (social psychology) engaged in scientific misconduct in research supported by National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).〔"(Grad student falsified data )", ''The Scientist, 5 August 2008.〕 The United States Office of Research Integrity found that data falsification altered five published articles first-authored by Jennifer Lerner.
